VIVALDI’S VENICE

August 3 | 3:00PM

Cathedral Basilica Of The Assumption

1140 Madison Ave, Covington, KY 41011

Venice. La Serenissima. Home to canals, gondolas, the famous carnival, the Rialto Bridge, the pigeons on the Piazza San Marco, and ruled by a Doge. It was the capital of the Republic of Venice until 1797, when Le Petit Caporal put an end to that.

Venice. The musical city. Home to the Venetian School, its polychoral style, and the music publishing company of one Ottaviano Petrucci, which attracted composers from all across Europe.

A professional choir, led by our associate conductor Daniel Parsley, will show off the polychoral style in the sublime acoustic setting of the Basilica.
